Stop Reading Textbooks. Read the Internet.
How we use AI to rewrite the web into your perfect learning level.
The "Boredom vs. Anxiety" Trap
To learn a language, you need to consume it. But most learners are stuck choosing between two bad options:
Textbooks: Grammatically perfect but boring. This kills Intrinsic Motivation (Dopamine).
Real Web Content: Interesting but overwhelming. This creates Cognitive Overload.
When content is too hard, your Affective Filter spikes, anxiety sets in, and learning stops. When it is too boring, you disengage. You need a third option.
The Goldilocks Zone ($i+1$)
Cognitive science dictates that acquisition only happens in the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD)—the sweet spot where a task is slightly challenging but achievable with help. Linguist Stephen Krashen calls this Comprehensible Input ($i+1$).
If your level is $i$, you need content that is $i+1$.
- Too Low ($i-1$): You learn nothing new.
- Too High ($i+10$): You get overwhelmed.
Our Solution: Our AI plugin analyzes your competency profile and rewrites any website to match your exact ZPD. It adapts the complexity of the text so it is never too hard, and never too easy.
Contextual Injection (Strategic Re-Use)
Most apps keep your vocabulary trapped in a flashcard deck. We set it free.
When you load an article, our engine scans your Word Bank. It identifies words you are on the verge of forgetting (calculated by the The FSRS Algorithm) and injects them into the article you are reading.
This provides Contextual Retrieval. You aren't just reviewing a word in a void; you are encountering it naturally in a story you care about. This triggers Reconsolidation—strengthening the memory trace by connecting it to a live narrative.
The Split-Screen Safety Net
Immersion can be intimidating. To lower the Affective Filter (Anxiety), we provide a Split-Screen Scaffold.
- Left Side: The original text (Native Language) or a simplified summary.
- Right Side: The adaptive translation (Target Language).
This creates a low-stakes environment. If you get stuck, the hint is one glance away. This reduces Extraneous Cognitive Load, allowing your Working Memory to focus entirely on decoding the new language structures rather than panicking over lost meaning.
From Passive Reading to Active Quizzing
Reading is often a passive activity. To ensure Generative Processing (ICAP Level: Constructive), we added the "Quiz Me" engine.
At the end of any paragraph, you can click "Quiz Me." The AI generates a retrieval question based on the specific text you just read. This forces you to stop, recall, and synthesize the information, transforming a passive reading session into an active The Testing Effect event.
The Immersion Difference
- Adaptive Content: We rewrite the web to fit your level ($i+1$).
- Contextual Injection: We hide your flashcards inside news articles.
- Scaffolding: Split-screen views reduce anxiety and cognitive load.
- Active Quizzing: We turn reading into a retrieval event.
